Skimmer sentenced and deported

A 42-year-old Romanian man living in the country illegally who pleaded guilty Aug. 23 to numerous counts of criminal conspiracy involving the use of "skimmers" on Camden-area ATMs appears to have been deported. The Camden Police Department (CPD) arrested Gheorghe Iordache, 42, whose last known address was in Florence, on April 18.

Camden man sent back to federal prison

A Camden man who pleaded guilty in late May to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition will spend an additional five years in prison, according to a press release from South Carolina U.S. Attorney Beth Drake.

Automatic CPR devices helping EMS in the field

Your loved one is lying on the ground, not breathing. Their heart might have stopped. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) technicians arrive almost as soon you've hung up from 911. They can't find a pulse, so they begin cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR. Time is of the essence. They decide to place him or her in their ambulance and will continue CPR on the way to the hospital.
