Having been on Cheraw's side of the field so often in the first half that the Camden offense could have claimed squatters' rights, the Bulldogs had only a 7-0 lead to show for it at halftime of Friday's season opener at Zemp Stadium.
Lugoff-Elgin, which fell to Westwood, 7-6, in Friday's eighth annual Mid Carolina Credit Union Kickoff Classic at Lugoff-Elgin Stadium, will open its regular season on Friday when Fort Mill comes to town for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
One of the perks in playing a week zero game is that sometime during the season, your team gets a week off to heal up and coaches can work out any kinks. One of the pratfalls of an early opener is the lack of information on your opponent.
