Local AKA ladies donate products to Sistercare

During this month's IMPACT meeting at the Health Resource Center the Iota Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. donated products such as clothes, child care and toiletry items to Sistercare. Sistercare is a United Way partner that provides services and shelter for battered women. Camden Archives receives donation

A British short land pattern military musket, often called a "brown bess" was donated to the Camden Archives and Museum last week by Thom Williamson of Macon Ga., on left. The 10 pound weapon is estimated to have been made in the 1770s and used by a British soldier during the Revolutionary War. Howard Branham, Camden Archives director, said this type of musket was used by both sides during the Battles of Camden and Hobkirk's Hill.
