Thank you, Dr. Joseph

My husband and I would like to thank Dr. Tommy Joseph for his many years of selfless service to the children of Kershaw County. We both saw Dr. Joseph as children and then took our own two sons to him for the past 14 years. He was a gift to our family and the community. He calmed our many "new parent" fears and reassured us while providing the best medical treatment available. He is one of a kind and we will miss seeing him at the doctor's office. Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement!

LFD to the rescue

On Nov. 29th I was on my way home for lunch and saw the Lugoff Fire Department in front of my neighbor's house. After parking in the road and walking over to where my neighbor was standing I found out that, fortunately, the house was not on fire but a scene was taking place that looked like it should have been on television.

‘Kung Fu Panda’ director to helm animated Noah film

Another version of the story of Noah is headed to the big screen from Unified Pictures, and while it's unclear whether it will be any more faithful to the biblical source material than the recent sci-fi/fantasy-inflected version by Oscar-nominated auteur Darren Aronofsky, it's nabbed a director that should go down better with family audiences.

Why I don't let my kids beat me in board games

My family loves to play games together. It is a tradition in my husband's extended family to spend a lot of time playing games. We've continued this tradition in our own family, spending weekend nights and vacation time playing party, card and board games. My husband and I host regular games nights, and my teenager has started having her friends over for games too.
