CCKC Spring Concert Thursday

The Chamber Choir of Kershaw County (CCKC) will perform its annual Spring Concert Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Wood Auditorium of the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC). General admission tickets are $5 and will be available at the door.

Lugoff man arrested on sexual conduct charges

The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) arrested a 35-year-old Lugoff man Tuesday on charges he had sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl. A KCSO press release identified the arrested man as Jonathan Wade Ray, and that investigators charged him with second degree criminal sexual conduct.

Monday - 11 a.m. --- Due to wet grounds and the potential for more rain throughout the rest of Monday, tonight's AAA Upper State District 2 playoff game between Camden and host Chester has been pushed back to tuesday at 7 p.m. at Chester High School.

Big Al and the rabbit fish

More than 50 years ago, I spent many a day fishing with my maternal grandfather on Lake Wateree. He was known to all as Daddy John and the lake was always called The River. Daddy John knew the location of every Bream/Crappy-Bed and Catfish-Hole at The River. Amazingly, he knew all of the fish in the lake by name. He also knew a great big turtle that he affectionately called Big Al.
