Scobie still needs a home

Among the animals available for adoption at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter are Scobie, an adult Chihuahua mix male and a male black and white cat. The adoption donation includes spaying or neutering. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Our Public Works Department Street and Electric crews have been diligently working to decorate the city for Christmas. I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but it takes time for us to deck the halls for December. Thanks to their efforts we'll have decorated light poles throughout the downtown and several lit Christmas trees.

Camden man charged with molesting 9-year-old

Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) deputies charged a Camden man Tuesday with third-degree criminal sexual conduct after turning himself in over accusations he inappropriately touched a 9-year-old girl. In a statement released Wednesday, the KCSO identified the man as Christopher D. Yates, of Lakeshore Drive, Camden. Deputies interviewed him with his attorney present before charging him.
