The library is one of my favorite places. The workers there are friendly and helpful. I grew up in a very small town. The library was one, small room. That room had books and a desk -- that's all. The librarian checked out books, with a rubber stamp. The library wasn't much to look at. But there I explored new worlds in books.

Having spent many hours working to get the historic Seaboard Railroad station preserved, I was extremely pleased to see that Amtrak was at the city council work session June 22 to present its plan for improvements to the station.
During the last Camden City Council work session, and as reported in the July 28 Chronicle-Independent, the concept of "adaptive reuse" of Rhame Arena was discussed. It was during this discussion that it was noted that the concept and sketch under discussion was developed by the daughter of Marti Wallace and Mike Jones (Elizabeth Ancrum Jones). Miss Jones developed her proposal several years ago. After a discussion of the property during a prior council meeting, her work was provided to city staff for their consideration.
