Barn Fire

The Lugoff Fire Department (LFD) battles a barn fire Nov. 12 on Guion Drive off Lachicotte Road in Lugoff. A cold front entering the area brought wind gusts of more than 30 mph to the area, threatening to drive the flames against a nearby residence. LFD Battalion 1, Rescue 10 and Engine 10 arrived on the scene to find the large barn heavily involved in fire. I-20 WB to begin lane shift Saturday

Kershaw County residents who regularly drive to Columbia on I-20 in northeast Richland County need to be aware that the S.C. Department of Transportation's (SCDOT) ongoing project to widen the interstate will shift to the westbound lanes beginning Saturday.
