Glenda was born in Bishopville, a daughter of Jeanette Outlaw Hall and the late Marion F. Hall, Sr. She worked at WalMart and Lowes in Sumter and Camden. Margot Rochester Landscape Award nomination deadline Friday

The deadline for nominations for the Margot Rochester Landscape Award is this Friday by the city of Camden Parks and Trees Commission. The award recognizes a commercial business, public institution, organization, church or school for beautifying Camden with "exceptional landscaping and grounds maintenance." Last year, Camden Elementary School's sensory garden was selected for the 2012 Landscape Award winner.

In the Friday edition of the Chronicle-Independent, there was an article that touched on county funding of the adaptive reuses restoration project of the McCaa House underway by Historic Camden that incorrectly stated the County has provided $21,500 for this project. The County has generously supplied $41,500 for this initiative.

A state Senate bill that would allow early voting in South Carolina makes perfect sense and will benefit thousands of Palmetto State voters if it becomes law.
