Claire Bryant and Friends return to FAC

The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) presents Claire Bryant and Friends in a week-long residency and chamber music concert. The concert is scheduled for April 12 at 7 p.m. in the Wood Auditorium. Schools accept the Clinic Classic Challenge

The Clinic Classic Challenge, to be held April 21 at 8:30 a.m. in Camden, is open to all students aged 12 and under. The school with the most participants in the McDonald's 5K Walk/Run will be awarded $500. This prize, thanks to sponsor McDonald's, may be used at the discretion of the school's principal.

A celebration of life service for Mary Frances Griswold, 56, of Camden, will be held Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The Rev. Dr. Mark Bredholt will officiate. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Kamel Stephen Sheheen, 88, of Camden, Thursday, April 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the rite of committal in Quaker Cemetery. Father Francis Travis will officiate. The rosary will be recited Wednesday, April 4 at 6 p.m. and the family will recieve friends until 7:00 p.m. at Kormegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. There are many people in Kershaw County who are no doubt shocked by the recent lawsuit filed against Camden Military Academy, in which the parents of a former cadet say he was not only hazed and beaten but sodomized and raped. Those allegations are yet to play out in a courtroom, but we would caution against a rush to judgment in this case.
