Carolina Family Karate wins 26 medals at AAU nationals

Carolina Family Karate in Lugoff sent 19 students to the National AAU Karate Championships in Raleigh earlier this month and the team returned home with 26 medals which included performance in the disciplines of Kobudo (improvised farming tools), Kata (sequential defensive moves) and Kumite (sparring).

Morgan: Forty years

At the end of the past school year, I finished 40 years of working in public education. To put this in perspective, Gerald Ford was president when I began my career as a middle school teacher and coach in 1975. That's seven presidents ago. This mostly makes me old.
