CMCOKC receives CVS Health Foundation grant

The Community Medical Clinic of Kershaw County (CMCOKC) recently received a $35,000 CVS Health Foundation grant, part of more than $195,000 CVS is giving to community health organizations in South Carolina this year. Those grants, in turn, are part of CVS' multi-year, $5 million commitment to increase access to healthcare in communities nationwide, according to a recent press release.

A celebration of life service for Mary Geraldine Fields "Jerry" Saunders, 85, will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Camden, with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. The Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Camden.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Boyd "Pop" Eugene Parker, Sr. 92, of Camden, SC, will be held at 3:00 PM today, April 15, 2015 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. City of Camden receives $1.6 million NIP grant

The city of Camden recently received a $1.6 million by the South Carolina State Housing Authority through its Neighborhood Initiative Program (NIP). The award will facilitate the purchase and removal of blighted residential structures and improvement of parcels in Camden neighborhoods and adjacent properties in Kershaw County.
