Funeral services celebrating the life of Edwilla Hough Brown Ham will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Wateree Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Alfred Jiles Jr.
Alfred Jiles, Jr., 67, of Bishopville, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Alfred, Sr. and Almetta Dinkins Jiles. Funeral services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brown's Funeral Home Chapel of Rememberance, with burial to follow in Scott Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Camden. Brown's Funeral Home is assisting the family of Mr. Alfred Jiles, Jr. with arrangements.

Grace Watkins Shirley, 88, went home to Glory on January 7, 2011, after a long illness. Mrs. Shirley was born in Lee County, South Carolina, and was the daughter of the late Jesse Brannon Watkins and Carolyn Davis Watkins. Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) narcotics agents arrested two men Monday after discovering a fully assembled methamphetamine lab in an outbuilding on Cricket Hill Drive in Lugoff.

CHS 4 x 100-relay team third in AAA state meet
Led by a third place finish from its 4 x 100-meter relay team, the Camden High boys' track team finished in 12th place at last weekend's South Carolina High School League State Championships held at Lower Richland High School in Hopkins.
