Actions of our Camden cty government raise questions about the long-term direction of city plans. This is not to imply any personal attacks since I respect the individuals involved. However, major changes in policy and plans have long-term impact and therefore require much more understanding and justification.

In early 1967 the Kershaw County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary purchased a heart monitor/defibrillator and donated it to the hospital. On June 23, 1967, it was used for the first time to save the life of an eight-year old Camden girl who had accidently received a lethal electric shock about 2:15 that afternoon.

The Camden High School Bulldog Club membership drive is in full swing for the 2014-2015 school year. The organization, founded in 1952, provides financial assistance to all athletic programs at the school through the membership drive and various fundraising activities.
On Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at 11 a.m., the Ross E. Beard Collection became the property of the city of Camden, as Mr. Beard signed the paperwork at the Camden Archives and Museum. City officials, long-time friends of Mr. Beard and representatives from the Friends of the Archives and Museum looked on as City Attorney Lawrence Flynn, Mr. Beard, Ed Royall (his attorney) and Austin Sheheen (his accountant) processed the paperwork.
Responding to a frantic 911 call for help and a follow up investigation, Kershaw County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Harley Joe Moore, 33, of Camden, and charged him with first degree burglary, discharging a firearm into a dwelling, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and unlawfully carrying a weapon.
