SCDHHS to insure more children through ‘Express Lane’ eligibility

Approximately 602 Kershaw County children who are currently eligible for South Carolina's Medicaid program but are not signed up will be enrolled and immediately able to receive services through a coordinated care health plan, the South Carolina Department of Health Human Services (SCDHHS) announced today. This is part of the initiative of SCDHHS to enroll 65,000 eligible children state-wide.

Lugoff Fire Explorer Post wins big again

During the Lugoff Fire Board of Commissioners' Oct. 22 meeting, members recognized the Lugoff Fire Explorer Post for placing first in the Team Midnight Alarm Explorer Competition and third in the Team Gear Donning Competition at the annual Fire Fest held in Camden Sept. 29. The Lugoff Fire Explorer Post has a successful history winning competitions throughout the state. In 2010, the post won second place in the S.C. • With election day upon us, there's one final sad fact to report: lawyers for both parties are mobilizing, ready to start flinging lawsuits. In Ohio alone, thousands of attorneys are standing by; we're reminded a bit of those ads for prescription drugs in which a somber announcer tells viewers there's a pretty good chance they have a disease they might not even know about. Actually, having a legal fight would be an appropriate though mournful way to end what has probably been the most down-and-dirty fight American voters have seen.

Fame Jr. rocks the Wood Auditorium at FAC

The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) and Columbia Children's Theatre (CCT) are proud to present Fame Jr., a Camden Community Theatre production, Nov. 8-11 in the Wood Auditorium.
