Old Obama would question new war plans

President Barack Obama surprised many by deciding to turn to Congress for approval before he fires missiles at Syria, but his decision makes sense. When proposing military action that almost nobody wants to wage, it is best to find someone with whom to share the blame.

Among the animals available for adoption at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter are Monnie is a 5-month-old retriever mix and a female gray tabby cat. The adoption donation includes spaying or neutering. Dawn M. Wicker

Dawn M. Wicker passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2013. Dawn was born and raised in Michigan and graduated from Eastern High school in 1959. She was a nurturer who enjoyed the time she spent with students in Lansing School District for 25 years, however, her true calling was raising her family. She was a member of the VFW Post #8346, Lake Wateree Ladies Auxiliary. She held a special place in her heart for her three children, five grandchildren and her brother and sister.
