Hello and Happy Friday! Another month has passed so let me see what I have in store for you this month…

In response to the C-I's "Opinion" March 14 titled "Mahoney," I did not feel that the paper was vituperious (blameworthy or disgraceful for those of us who had to look it up). However, the articles have been rather lengthy, maybe more than just the "straightforward" facts. This may have enhanced the angry responses, and please, when did newspapers quit having to sell? Just as you wrote, many friends of the Mahoneys think "surely this can't be true." This is especially true of those of us whose children, now in their 30's, spent, literally, years over at the ...
So much for the soft-throwing and crafty descriptions which, oftentimes, are associated with a left-handed pitcher.
I'm glad to hear the Justice Department is looking into the killing of Trayvon Martin. After all, if they can investigate the killing of innocent civilians in Afghanistan, they can do it in Florida.
Last week I attended a ceremony honoring Circuit Judge Ernest Kinard for his quarter-century on the bench.
It is absolutely amazing what 100-plus volunteers can do in just one spring Saturday in Camden, South Carolina. Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Sen. John McCain of Arizona have been buddies for a long time, and they're cut out of the same cloth: moderate Republicans who are willing to cross the aisle to get legislation passed. The far-right wing of the GOP makes a lot of noise about whacking Graham down to size, but he keeps winning elections by sizeable margins. That suits us fine. We'll have to admit we thought it was pretty funny recently when McCain said he'd like to see his "illegitimate son, Lindsey Graham" make a run for the ...
WASHINGTON -- Forget E.F. Hutton. It's P.F. (Pope Francis) these days who, when he talks, people listen.
