Pets of the Week -- 12-21-2012

Among the animals available for adoption at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter are Blitzer, a male Collie mix, 6 to 8 weeks old and Jinx, a 2-year-old neutered male gray Tabby. The adoption donation includes spaying or neutering. The shelter, located at the south end of Fair Street and managed by the Kershaw County Humane Society, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Lending a helping hand

The North Central Middle School Junior Beta Club sponsored a shoe box drive for Samaritan's Purse. The students collected 51 shoe boxes that were then sent to Boone, N.C. before they are delivered to other countries. S&P adjusts KH outlook to ‘negative’

Standard & Poor's (S&P) recently adjusted its outlook on KershawHealth's finances from "stable" to "negative" while still affirming its long-held "BBB" investment-grade rating. KershawHealth Vice President and COO/CFO Mike Bunch announced the downgrade during a meeting of the KershawHealth Board of Trustee's finance committee Thursday.

Christmas

Most of us here in Kershaw County are caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season -- shopping, family gatherings, baking and all the other traditions of Christmas. And there's nothing wrong with that. Gratitude for funeral home

I would like to write a letter expressing my gratitude and thanks for Powers Funeral Home and family for the memorial service they provided to the community on Sunday, December 2, 2012. It was so amazing, filled with precious memories and love. It was a service given to those people who have lost loved ones throughout the year of 2012.
