North Central High School (NCHS) recently crowned Abigail Durant and William McInvaille as its 2014 Miss and Mr. Green and Gold. Contestants in the pageant danced to an opening number. The pageant's theme this year was "Blast from the Past," so the contestants' casual wear was theme-based.

Charlotte Thompson Bar-B-Q celebrates 56 years

Thursday, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Charlotte Thompson Fire Department (CTFD), located at 746 St. Matthews Road in Camden, will hold its 56th annual barbecue. All plates are $8 each and profits benefit the volunteer fire department and the community center. The event is an opportunity for friends and neighbors to eat together at the community center. Take-out is also available.
