The Lady in the Rocker

• We note with sadness the recent death of Camden's Larry Cooke, a former Bulldog basketball star who went on to have a stellar career with Virginia Tech (at that time Virginia Polytechnic Institute) and was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks. At age 57, he left this world too early but left behind a proud legacy.

Mrs. Margaret Williams Gilchrist, 75, of 1448 Hettie Richette Road, Cassatt, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Born in Cassatt, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Gilchrist. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Red Hill Baptist Church, Cassatt, with burial in Dubose Cemetary, Cassatt.
