KCSO arrests four in meth lab raid

The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) arrested four people Thursday during a raid on a Cassatt home that turned up a handgun, one-half pound of marijuana, methamphetamine and a small meth lab.

Upset about abuse

Dear Annie: My cousin is a police officer in a neighboring city, and we only see him when the whole family is together. Recently, he was caught on camera beating up a woman he'd pulled over for something. From his statement and the camera footage, it seems the woman got mouthy and he responded physically. It was graphic.

For several years, we've been bombarded with news stories about the problems kids are facing in a competitive world. Now comes word that it's not only American youths who aren't able to compete, but adults in the workplace, too. And it's disturbing.

Rec Notes -- October 11

Kershaw County Parks and Recreation, Kimbrell's Furniture and SAFE Federal Credit Union are sponsoring the Annual Trick-or-Treat Trail and invite organizations to participate. The event will be held on Thursday, October 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Rhame City Arena, 517 Broad Street. Local businesses, agencies, and organizations are encouraged to participate by dressing in costume, decorating Halloween booths, and distributing treats, prizes and candy to the costumed children who participate.
