The Kershaw County Sheriff's Foundation (KCSF) Board of Directors has established a new annual citizen award to recognize the support of Kershaw County residents for the Sheriff's Office. The "Leonard Price Friend of Law Enforcement Award" is named after Mr. Leonard L. Price, a resident of the North Central area of Kershaw County who has invested heavily in supporting law enforcement.
I write this based on a fear for the well-being and future of America. If I am wrong, somebody set me straight, please. The historian philosopher Arnold Toynbee said, "Civilizations die from suicide, not murder, and start to decay when they lose their moral fiber and the cultural elite turns parasitic, exploiting the masses." Camden High School is offering free physicals for all prospective student-athletes who plan on participating on any of the school's athletic teams throughout the 2015-16 school year.
Due to last Thursday's inclement weather, both Camden and North Central's games at Dreher and Indian Land, respectively, were postponed to tonight. North Central will travel to Indian Land for a pair of 6 p.m. contests on the baseball and softball diamonds. The Camden High baseball game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Dawkins Jr., 59, of Lugoff, SC will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, April 20, 2015 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff- Elgin Chapel, with burial to be held at Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jacob Helsley and Rev. Phillip Blankenship will officiate. The family will receive friends at 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
The eighth annual Clinic Classic 5K walk/run will take to the streets of Camden on Saturday, April 18.
With Augusta being only a couple hours away from Kershaw County, the Masters golf tournament holds a great deal of allure for this area. The azaleas at Augusta National are famous for their popping colors and their beauty, but they're no prettier than those which are currently at their peak in Camden, we might add. But there's something magical about the Masters, which is ranked by many players as the one tournament they'd like to win more than any other.
It used to be that a baseball game with Lower Richland meant the reserves would see as much, if not more, action on the field than would the starters.
