The Camden Music Association, in conjunction with the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County, announces the Brevard Music Scholarship Competition will be held Saturday, Feb. 5. With three different scholarship opportunities, winners will be awarded money toward further study or may spend the summer at the prestigious Brevard Summer Music Camp. A federal jury is hearing testimony this week as the trial begins of a lawsuit brought against Camden Military Academy (CMA). In the trial's first days, attorneys for a former cadet have brought forward testimony and evidence they say show that, in 2008, other CMA students raped the then 13-year-old boy, according to news reports.
