Close to 150 children take the stage in this year's Community Youth Production, "Aladdin" presented by Columbia Children's Theater. "Aladdin" began March 8 and will run through Sunday, March 11 at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County. Evening performances are at 7 p.m. and the Sunday matinee is at 3 p.m. Tickets to the production are $8. If there were evidence of widespread crossover voting in South Carolina primaries -- if Democrats were voting in Republican primaries just to subvert the process, or vice versa -- then it might make sense to require people to register by party before casting ballots in primaries. But there's not, and so there's no real need for a bill that has been introduced in the House of Representatives to close primaries.

Two separate incidents in Kershaw County this week have proven, once again, the unpredictability of pit bulls and the danger of owning such dogs. We have wondered on prior occasions what moves people to possess breeds that have a history of violence.
In regard to your article in Friday's (Nov. 7) paper about the defeat of the KCSD referendum. It would seem that the school district is missing the boat. Mrs. Few and CANT have obviously scoped this whole thing out and feel they can operate and expand the school district to every ones satisfaction within the current budget. The school district should take advantage of this knowledge and perhaps have a public meeting where they describe their program.
