Charles Vincent Davis

Charles Vincent "Charlie" Davis, 66, of Kirkwood Community, Camden, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013. Born in Camden he was the son of the late Betty Davis and the husband of the late Henrietta Davis. A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Saint Matthew Baptist Church, with burial in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, Monday. Mr. Davis will be palced int he church at 1 p.m. for viewing. Brown's Funeral Home, Camden, is serving the Davis family.

Charles Thomas Fitts, Sr.

Charles Thomas Fitts, Sr., known as "Papa Peach" to his beloved family, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013. A resident of Columbia since 1957, he was 97 years old. The son of the late Eva Griffeth and Thomas Jefferson Fitts, Mr. Fitts was born May 6, 1915, in Tate, Georgia. He graduated from Tate High School and North Georgia Military College and continued studies at the University of Georgia.

The Kershaw County Recreation Department is currently registering for the Youth Baseball Leagues. Boys and girls must be four by May 1, 2013 to play baseball. Girls must be seven by May 1, 2013 to play softball. Girls must be 10 years old by Jan. 1, 2013 to play Fast Pitch. Registration Fee is $32.
