After witnessing the sheriff addressing council, I now believe the only thing left he can do is to get on his knees and beg. Throw his hands up. He has tried so hard, yet his deputies are underpaid and his department is understaffed.
Kershaw County residents who commute to Columbia, or vice versa, will notice a major traffic shift on I-20's eastbound lanes Friday in northeast Richland County. Beginning Friday, the new traffic shift will affect eastbound I-20 from I-77 to Spears Creek Road. This shift will not affect westbound traffic.
Funeral service for Mr. Marcus Lomaine Stover, Sr., 36, of 43 Popular Lane in Bishopville, will be held Friday, July 12, 2013, 2 p.m. at Lee Central High School auditorium, 1800 Wisacky Hwy. in Bishopville with burial in the St. John Baptist Church cemetery, 3238 John G. Richards Road in Camden. He died Sunday, July 7, 2013. Collins Funeral Home of Camden is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Genane M. Canty, 62, 2264 Mount Hebron Road, Cassatt, died Sunday. Family and friends may call at 2270 Mount Hebron Road, Cassatt. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by Brown's Funeral Home, Camden, who is serving the Canty family.
Mrs. Fannie "Flossie" Tucker, 75, of Bolivia, North Carolina and formerly of Ridgeway died Monday. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by Brown's Funeral Home, Camden, who is serving the Tucker family.
Mr. Terry Robertson, 24, of 405 Victory Avenue, Monroe, North Carolina and formerly of Lugoff died Monday. Family and friends may call at 209 Williams Circle, Lugoff. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by Brown's Funeral Home, Camden, who is serving the Robertson family.
Funeral service for William Ward Dickey, 88, formerly of Camden, will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Cameron and the Rev. Bruce Marthers will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.
