Services for Clyde I. Williams, Jr., 62, of Lugoff, will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Rowan Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Lugoff with the Rev. Phil McCoy officiating. Phyllis P. Tait

Phyllis Palmer Tait passed away on April 30, 2011, at the Bay Village retirement community in Sarasota, Florida. She had a lung ailment. She was 89 years old. Her husband of 65 years, George P. Tait, passed away in March 2009.

Pets of the week -- May 6, 2011

Among the animals available for adoption at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter are an 8-week-old female, gray and white domestic medium-haired kitten and a 3-month-old male Larbrador mix puppy. The adoption donation includes spaying or neutering. The shelter, located at the south end of Fair Street and managed by the Kershaw County Humane Society, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
