Kudos to our various law enforcement agencies for working together to get some folks off our streets who needed to be stopped. At the top of our list are Bethune Police Chief Joey Cobb, Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) and U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for arresting two people (and there may be more to come) for the June 23 armed robbery of Sandhills Bank in Bethune.

As part of the Kershaw County Library's Summer Reading Program "Every Hero Has a Story," storyteller Sharon Clarke presented a program at both the Camden and Elgin libraries. Clarke, who lives in North Carolina, entertained the audience with both story and music. Her interactive program was enjoyed by the audience, young and old. Clarke involved the audience as she told an old Chinese folk tale, The Magic Wings. Four Kershaw County Coach Pitch All-Star (7-8-year-olds) teams will be in Camden for the Dixie Youth AA Coach Pitch District 5 All-Star Tournament which begins Friday at Woodward Park with tourney action continuing into next week in the double-elimination event.
