Funeral service for William Stephen McIntyre, 60, will be held on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at El-Bethel Faith Community Church Don Poeta Family Life Center with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Mrs. Beulah McCaskill, 100, of Bethune, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 9, 2014. Born in Bethune, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Ida Davis Corbett and the wife of the late Nero McCaskill. A Celebration of Life and Homegoing Services will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Eleven a.m., at Sandy Level Baptist Church, Bethune, with burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. McCaskill will be placed in the church at Ten a.m. for viewing. Brown's Funeral Home, Camden is serving the McCaskill family.

James Burrell “Jimmy” Knight, Jr.

Mr. James Burrell "Jimmy" Knight, Jr., 49, of Liberty Hill, husband of Lisa Blackmon Knight, passed away Saturday, August 9th, 2014 at William Jennings Bryan Dorn V.A. Hospital in Columbia. He was born June 13, 1965 in Lancaster, a son of James Burrell Knight, Sr. and Clydia S. Knight. Jimmy was a loving Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He was a volunteer firefighter with Beaver Creek Fire Department. He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed living on the lake, staying busy, and pulling pranks on everyone.

Strategic partnerships and alliances

KershawHealth's strategic plan, approved by the KershawHealth Board of Trustees earlier this year, makes it clear that alliances and partnerships are essential to the organization's future success in caring for our community. Grey Hoke awarded 2014 Parrott Memorial Scholarship

Grey Hoke (second from left) recently received the 33rd David Parrott Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was presented at the Bethesda Presbyterian Church and was awarded for the Development of Christian Character. Hoke is a recent graduate of Camden High School and was a member of its baseball team. Hoke plans to attend The Citadel and hopes to be a pitcher on its baseball team.
