Sanders Stoney Post 203 and Unit 203 sponsored students from Camden High School to attend the 66th Annual Session of Palmetto Boys State and Palmetto Girls State held in Anderson and Clinton, South Carolina which was a weeklong lesson in civics for 1,450 of South Carolina's top high school students. ATEC student earns school's first-ever national Poteat scholarship

Applied Technology Education Campus (ATEC) Director Chet Horton congratulates Natalie Harris, a senior at Lugoff-Elgin High School, on becoming the first ATEC student ever to win a national scholarship from the National Technical Honor Society. Harris is one of only 125 students nationwide to receive a $1,000 Jon H. Poteat $1,000 scholarship.

Hobkirk Hill Chapter DAR awards first scholarships

This is the first year the Hobkirk Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution has given (DAR) scholarships. For the past three years, we have had luncheons to raise money for a high school senior. Members of the DAR and benevolent citizens have contributed enough so that we are able to donate $500 scholarships to the following deserving seniors. These students have shown an interest in preserving history. They have participated in community activities and achieved high academic standards.

Mitchell, Clemson team engineer water system for Haitian village

KCSO seizes 102 lbs. of marijuana during I-20 stop

At approximately 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) traffic officers arrested Donald Wayne Gillham Jr., 45, of Sun City Center, Fla., after an officer stopped the 2012 Chevrolet he was driving on I-20 in Kershaw County and found 102 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of his vehicle.
