Food for the Soul dedication to be Tuesday
Food for the Soul, the Camden-based ministry that provides meals to the hungry and homeless in the Kershaw County area, will formally dedicate its new facility which includes a soup kitchen and emergency shelter Tuesday.

Adoptive parent frustrated with child’s actions

KCSD won't make up two snow days
The Kershaw County Board of School Trustees has voted to accept the state's forgiveness of two inclement weather days. According to the updated calendar, May 26-27 will be half-days for students. May 27 will also be the last day for students.

Funeral services for William Burnett Collins, 74, of Lugoff, SC will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Lugoff First Baptist Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. CMA hazing trial continues in Columbia
A federal jury is hearing testimony this week as the trial begins of a lawsuit brought against Camden Military Academy (CMA). In the trial's first days, attorneys for a former cadet have brought forward testimony and evidence they say show that, in 2008, other CMA students raped the then 13-year-old boy, according to news reports. The former cadet, listed in the lawsuit only as "JBC," is now 18.
