NCMS holds mock election

The Kershaw County Election Commission partnered with North Central Middle School to pull off a very successful Mock Student Election which was held in the school library on Thursday, Nov. 1. Ten actual voting booths, borrowed from the Election Commission, were set up for students who simultaneously participated in a larger National Student Mock Election through vote.myvoicemyelection.org. SCDHHS to insure more children through ‘Express Lane’ eligibility

Approximately 602 Kershaw County children who are currently eligible for South Carolina's Medicaid program but are not signed up will be enrolled and immediately able to receive services through a coordinated care health plan, the South Carolina Department of Health Human Services (SCDHHS) announced today. This is part of the initiative of SCDHHS to enroll 65,000 eligible children state-wide.

Funeral service for Margaret Ida Powers Cameron, 93, will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Bethel Worship Center with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Cassatt man arrested for fathering child with 14-year-old

Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) investigators arrested Jonathan Edgar Sandoval, 23, of Cassatt, Thursday, charging him with criminal sexual conduct with a minor after positively determining he fathered a child with a 14-year-old girl.
