A healthy lifestyle is about consuming a variety of foods that give nutrition the body needs in order to stay as healthy as possible. It means choosing the right amount of foods from all food groups and being aware of what's in the food. It is also about balancing calorie intake with the calories burned through work and exercise.
The Bethune Recreation Department will be holding Senior Fitness Classes at the Bethune Recreation Department building for those 55 years of age and older on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning April 2. The classes will run from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and will cost $20 a month.

Welcome to spring! For many people this is their favorite time of year, for many others it is a miserable time of year. According to the Center for Disease Control, approximately 27 million Americans, both adults (18.9 million) and children (7.1 million), have been diagnosed with asthma. Of those, more than half also suffer from allergies. Asthma and allergies are triggered by many factors such as cigarette and wood smoke, dust mites, pets, molds, certain foods, strong odors and of course plant pollen.
