It's the time of year when Outreach Bicycles for Needy Children continues to advance the cause of donating bicycles to a needy child. This year, Alesha Hudson's (right) goal is to donate 100 bicycles. She did not reach her goal last year of 100, but was able to collect a total of 85 bikes and see 85 smiling faces.

The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) is planning two family-oriented events this month. A Drive-In Movie Night is scheduled for Saturday beginning at 7:30 p.m. featuring Stephen Spielberg's popular movie, "E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial." The following weekend marks the return of the popular outdoor music series, Finally Friday, with its Halloween edition from 6 until 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28.
