More than 10 local businesses will participate in Camden Elementary School of the Creative Arts' (CESCA) "Party Rocking into Healthy Living" event Tuesday. From 5:30 to 7 p.m., CESCA will present fitness tips, demonstration classes, healthy meal planning and more to the Kershaw County community.

Among the animals available for adoption at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter are Rocky, a 2-year-old male Labrador/husky mix dog, and a 1- to 2-year-old female gray calico cat. The adoption donation includes spaying or neutering. The shelter, located at the south end of Fair Street and managed by the Kershaw County Humane Society, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. I gave up television several years ago when I bid farewell to Jack Bauer and the final season of "24." Not sure why I was drawn to the series about a fictional counter terrorist unit and its main protagonist, Jack Bauer; perhaps it was the excitement of watching the unit diffuse major terrorist attacks in merely one hour of real time in one very bad day. Other than sports, worthwhile news and the occasional "Office" episode, I've chosen to put the box on the back burner.

Henry M. Williams, Jr., (Mackey) and Ann Graves Williams will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on February 3, 2012. The couple was married in Columbia, South Carolina on February 3, 1962. They were high school sweethearts at Camden High School and have made Camden their home.

Storage One has partnered with Camden Elementary School of the Creative Arts (CESCA) to show appreciation for all the school does for its children. When a new renter mentions CESCA, a portion of their first month's rent was given to the school. On Monday the owner of Storage One, Josh Denton (left) presented a check for $150 to Camden Elementary Principal Ed Yount for this effort. Storage One of Lugoff and Camden plan to continue this special for CESCA and look forward to expanding their partnership to Lugoff Elementary School.

The Camden High School Bulldog Club membership drive is in full swing for the 2014-2015 school year. The organization, founded in 1952, provides financial assistance to all athletic programs at the school through the membership drive and various fundraising activities.
