Chamber honors legislators for support of business, technology

As AT&T announced the availability of its third generation (3G) mobile broadband network in Camden in early December, extending access for advanced mobile services, devices and feature-rich audio and video content to customers in the area, two Kershaw County legislators were recognized for their contributions toward helping such technological progress to be made.

Holmstrom wins MSC Geographic Bee

Josh Holmstrom, a student at the Montessori School of Camden, won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee Jan. 14 and a chance at a $25,000 college scholarship. The school-level bee, at which students answered oral questions on geography, was the first round in the 23rd annual National Geographic Bee. This year's Bee is sponsored by Google.

Transport for veterans offered

Kershaw County now has a DAV/VA van to transport veterans to and from the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia.
