The Academic Booster Club at Camden High School (CHS) will host its annual golf tournament March 5 at White Pines Golf Course in Camden with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. This is the primary fundraiser each year.

A day of drinking Sunday led to a man who allegedly threatened deputies with several butcher knives being shot with a non-lethal beanbag by a Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) captain.

Holmstrom wins MSC Geographic Bee

Josh Holmstrom, a student at the Montessori School of Camden, won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee Jan. 14 and a chance at a $25,000 college scholarship. The school-level bee, at which students answered oral questions on geography, was the first round in the 23rd annual National Geographic Bee. This year's Bee is sponsored by Google.

Transport for veterans offered

Kershaw County now has a DAV/VA van to transport veterans to and from the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia.
