Camden Junior Welfare League offers grants, scholarships to community organizations

The Camden Junior Welfare League is now accepting applications for grant money to be awarded to 501 (C)(3) organizations specifically dealing with children in the Kershaw County area. Grants range from $250 to $2,500. The application is available for download at www.camdenleague.com and completed proposals should be mailed to CJWL, P.O. Box 578, Camden, SC, 29021. Northcutt to represent American Legion Post 17 in Oratorical Contest

Post 17 contest chairman Richard Lackey congratulates Daniel Northcutt as post-level scholarship winner of the American Legion High School Oratorical Contest. Northcutt, a home-schooled junior, will represent Post 17 at the Zone Four contest to be held in Camden Feb. 19. The winners of the four zone contests will compete at the state level. State winners earn a trip to Indianapolis to vie for the national title which carries an $18,000 scholarship award.

Dating success not equal in open-marriage

Dear Annie: My husband and I have been happily married for 15 years and recently decided to try an open-marriage lifestyle. We are doing this with full honesty and respect for each other.
