Funeral service for Mrs. Willie Mae Neal, 70, of 2378 Baron DeKalb Road in Camden, will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2011, 2:00 P.M. at Scott Hill Baptist Church, 2301 Flint Hill Road in Camden with burial in the St. John Baptist Church cemetery, 3328 John G. Richards Road in Camden. Viewing will be one hour prior to service and a parting view. Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral service for Alliene Ray, 83, of Cassatt, will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Cassatt Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Donald Coppedge and Rev. Robert Brown will officiate. The family received friends Tuesday 6-8 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Hightower. CMA hazing trial continues in Columbia

A federal jury is hearing testimony this week as the trial begins of a lawsuit brought against Camden Military Academy (CMA). In the trial's first days, attorneys for a former cadet have brought forward testimony and evidence they say show that, in 2008, other CMA students raped the then 13-year-old boy, according to news reports. The former cadet, listed in the lawsuit only as "JBC," is now 18.
