SAFE returns more than $2 million to members

SAFE Federal Credit Union members received extra benefits Dec. 31, 2011, when bonus dividends and loan interest rebates totaling more than $2 million were posted to accounts. Deposit accounts, including certificates, received a 10 percent bonus based on dividends received in 2010. Loan accounts (except credit cards) will receive a 7 percent interest rebate based on total interest paid in 2011.

Among the animals available for adoption at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter are a 6- to 8-week-old female Australian Shepherd/retriever mix puppy and a domestic shorthaired kitten. The adoption donation includes spaying or neutering. The shelter, located at the south end of Fair Street and managed by the Kershaw County Humane Society, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Give YMCA, our children a chance

Our family moved to Camden in 2004 from the Dallas area. My wife Amy grew up here, so we were excited to have the opportunity to move to Camden to raise our children in a small town. I am a CPA and Partner with Grant Thornton LLP in Columbia. The YMCA has had a wonderful influence on my life and career. I am hopeful that City Council will move forward with the plan to bring a Y to our town.
