Springdale traffic area poses numerous hazards

In addition to Steve Parrott's letter of Dec. 22th I would like to add my concerns about the dangerous intersection at U.S. 1 and Springdale Drive and the numerous accidents there. I am also a resident of the Springdale area and see logging trucks as a big problem, but so are other vehicles. School funds have specific uses

If people are going to criticize the school board and school district superintendent for how money is spent, researching first is in order. In South Carolina, facilities and personnel are separate "pots" of money and cannot be mixed. Spending money to build does not affect money for teachers.

Poetry Alive

Third- and fourth-grade students at Lugoff Elementary School recently had the opportunity to take part in Poetry Alive. Ken and Nadine Delano demonstrated how to take a simple poem and make it come alive. The fourth- grade students in Tonya Seay's class enjoyed getting to act out a poem in front of their peers.
