County students compete in Christmas Card Contest

The results of the Kershaw County Recreation Department annual Christmas Card Contest sponsored by First Palmetto Savings Bank are in. All schools participating were combined (by each grade), for the over-all cash prize winners. All winners and honorable mentions are on display at the First Palmetto Savings Bank on East DeKalb Street. These cards may be picked up at the Recreation Department office any time after Dec. 30. Among the animals available for adoption at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter are a 1-year-old male orange tabby cat and a 10-week-old female Chihuahua puppy. Cleveland Harris, 63, of Camden, died Tuesday, December 21, 2010. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Eddie and Magaline "Sweetie" Outten Harris. Funeral services were held Thursday at Brown's Funeral Home Chapel of Rememberance. Brown's Funeral Home is assisting the family of Mr. Cleveland Harris with arrangements.
