KershawHealth completed its most recent survey by The Joint Commission Aug. 7-10, and the initial results were excellent. During their final briefing, surveyors noted that KershawHealth is performing well throughout the system and providing excellent care for its patients. The commission complimented staff members on their professionalism and care, and noted as well the positive engagement of physicians and board members.
It always amuses me when conservatives, who rail relentlessly against "political correctness" when it comes from the left, turn against one of their own like Rep. Todd Akin for saying what he really means.

The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) held its STARS camp at Lugoff Elgin Middle School the week of July 23. Other STARS camps were held at North Central and in Camden. The acronym STARS stands for Self discipline, Teamwork, Attitude, Respect and Service. Middle school age campers learned how to be safe on the Internet, the importance of wearing seat belts, anti-bullying techniques, crime scene investigation, forensics, prosecuting criminal cases, basic first aid, the dangers of substance abuse, fire safety and general police techniques.
