Stover Middle School band honors

The Leslie M. Stover Middle School Band program reports an outstanding season. The band began the year with a successful winter concert performance, which featured instrumental soloists and seasonal music. This year, 50 Stover band students won chairs in the All-Region Band, more than any other school in the region. Jak Smyrl collection purchased by USC library

The University of South Carolina (USC) Libraries is now home to a collection of more than 5,000 images, plus correspondence, sketchbooks, and even early elementary-school artwork Camden's Oscar Jackson "Jak" Smyrl, The State newspaper's first staff artist, who passed away in 2007.
