Burial will follow in Quaker Cemetery. Rev. Hope Avins will officiate. The family will receive friends at 2:00 PM until the time of the service at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. FAC and Columbia Children’s Theatre present Harry’s Hotter at Twilight

The Fine Arts Center (FAC) of Kershaw County, in partnership with Columbia Children's Theatre (CCT) are pleased to present the teen production of Harry's Hotter at Twilight, Thursday through Sunday. The production will be held in the Wood Auditorium of the FAC. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students, seniors and military. Show times are 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 3 p.m. on Sunday. The show is sponsored by Modern Turf.

• We're glad to see Catharine Ammons and James Watson of Kershaw County sentenced to long prison terms for their role in abusing Ammons' daughter (see today's front page). The couple battered her unmercifully, and the little girl's barely survived broken bones, damaged organs and malnutrition. They were given 20 years in prison, and we hope they'll ponder their misdeeds during their long years beyond bars, which is exactly where they belong.
