KCSD scholarship amounts double in five years

Kershaw County School District's Class of 2012 earned more than $10.6 million dollars in scholarship money this year. More than double the figure from five years ago, said Superintendent Dr. Frank Morgan.

Electric cooperative warns members of scam

Lynches River Electric Cooperative (LREC) is warning members of a telephone scam targeting cooperative members. LREC representatives said another South Carolina electric cooperative has reported its members have received phone calls from an individual claiming to represent the cooperative. The member is told their bill is past due and asked to provide their credit card number for payment.

Lugoff-Elgin Middle School celebrates Pi Day

Eighth grade students at Lugoff-Elgin Middle School participated in Pi Day festivities by designing their own t-shirts. Students had to research and record onto t-shirts four interesting facts about Pi. Because of the nature of this year's Pi Day, the first ten digits of Pi had to be listed on the shirt along with the symbol for Pi.

Finally Friday kicks off Cup Weekend at Town Green

The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) kicks off its 2015 Finally Friday Free Concert Series with a special edition on Friday on the Town Green with local band KT & Friends. The concert will be held from 6 – 8:30 p.m. This special Pre-Carolina Cup Kick Off is made possible by the City of Camden, along with sponsors NBSC, Powers Funeral Home, Alpine Agency, Warrior Fitness Camden, Graham Realty, City Laundry and Cleaners and TruVista.
