Bruce Hancock will officiate. Burial will follow in Quaker Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service starting at 3:00 PM in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Center. Among the animals available for adoption at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter are Destiny, a sweet one-month-old German Shepherd female mix and a one-month-old affectionate gray and black kitten, The adoption donation includes spaying or neutering. The shelter, located at the south end of Fair Street and managed by the Kershaw County Humane Society, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Rec notes - June 28, 2013

This camp is offered for girls ages 7 - 13. Camp dates are July 8-12 and will be at the CHS softball field from 9 a.m. to Noon. Learn fundamental skills of fast pitch softball or improve your skills in the camp. Daily sessions will include defensive play, base running and hitting. Instructing the camp will be Camden High Softball Coach, Lynn Looney along with other CHS coaches and local players assisting. The cost is $60. Pre-registration is required by July 3.
