Among the animals available for adoption at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter are a black and white female cat and Julie, a 4-month-old Border Collie. The adoption donation includes spaying or neutering. Out in Iowa, a state whose early presidential caucuses have given it inordinate influence over the political process, Republicans are worried that the state is losing influence because far-right conservatives are dominating the process and causing some moderate GOP White House hopefuls to consider skipping the state. Accident with injury

Camden police officers and firefighters, and EMS respond to an accident at Broad and DeKalb streets just before noon Monday. According to the Camden Police Department (CPD), an Elgin man driving a 2006 Toyota truck (right) ran a red light while traveling east on DeKalb Street, causing him to hit a 2003 Dodge (left) traveling South on Broad Street.
