Pageant queens gear up for 2015 Miss Camden and Camden Teen Pageant

The 2015 Miss Camden and Miss Camden Teen Pageant will be held at 6 p.m. tomorrow in the Camden High School Performing Arts Auditorium. Eight young ladies from around the county will compete for the titles of Miss Camden and Miss Camden Teen. Admission is $10 in advance and $12 at the door. CHS girls finish strong in Lake Marion tourney

Camden bounced back from a tournament-opening 53-33 loss to AAA top-ranked Orangeburg-Wilkinson on Friday to win its final two games in the girls' portion of the Lake Marion Invitational which concluded Monday afternoon.

Mr. Jackie Keitt, 74, of 1978 Bunker Hill Road, Lugoff, SC, passed on Sunday, December 28, 2014. The family will receive friends at the home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by Nelson-Haile Funeral Home.

Charlie Burris Mathis, Jr.

A funeral service to honor the life of Charlie Burris "Buck" Mathis, Jr., 83, of Camden, SC, will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Rev. Bruce Hancock will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Habitat for Humanity of Kershaw County recently broke ground on their 37th home located at 1429 Gordon Street. In just a few months, the property will become home to the Holliday family. James, Pamela and Jalen look forward to becoming homeowners in just a few short months.
