Mrs. Novella "Bibbie" Hurst Watson, age 82, died Monday, February 10, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Ruby Baptist Church. Internment will be a private family service in the Watson Cemetery
Bethune Elementary students in grades K-5 recently participated in an Arbor Day Celebration led by Ms. Martha McCaskill. The students came together to sing songs, recite poems, and do skits that celebrated the benefits that trees add to our environment. Both staff and student's worked together and did an excellent job.
A.W. Duo, a piano and cello duo made up of pianist Alyona Aksyonova and cellist James Waldo, will perform a benefit concert at Grace Episcopal Church in Camden on March 28. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. at the church, 1315 Lyttleton St.. Proceeds from the concert will support Heartfelt Home Repair, Grace Church's ministry to the elderly and underprivileged.

Harvie Catoe, 89, from Camden, SC, died on the snowy morning of Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Harvie worked at Hermitage Mill of Camden in his early adulthood, served in the US Navy during WWII, graduated from The Citadel, retired as Civil Engineer for Tennessee Valley Authority, was a long-time member of the Church of God, and was a life-long gardener and enjoyed sharing his harvest with family and friends.
