Miss Davis, Mr. Campbell wed
Megan Carol Davis and Shawn Vincent Campbell were united in marriage Aug. 21, 2010 at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church in Camden. Pastor Sheila Rogers and Pastor Frank Griffith officiated the 5:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony.
Happy 70th Anniversary!
Mr. and Mrs. William R. Ogburn (Bill and Dorothy) celebrated their 70th anniversary on November 23, 2010. They are the proud parents of Beverly (Elliott) Sheorn and William Ogburn, Jr., three grandsons Rob (Kim) Sheorn, Mark (Monica) Sheorn and Hudson Ogburn and four great grand children, Bradley, Chance, Wesley and McCall Sheorn.
Sears of Lugoff donates items to the classroom
Brian Wonderling (middle), owner of Sears in Lugoff, recently donated $700 in classroom materials to four first grade teachers at Lugoff Elementary. The teachers received digital cameras, electronic pencil sharpeners, a CD player, headphones, print cartridges as well as other items to use in their classroom. Funeral service for Hazel Louise Hinson, 63, of Camden, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. The good in life
We had hoped, as no doubt all Kershaw County residents had, that the economy during this Thanksgiving season would be more vigorous than it actually is -- that fewer people would be unemployed, that the housing market would have rebounded, that small businesses would be prospering more than they are and that the stress caused by economic turmoil would have eased. But even under present circumstances, we have much to be thankful for.

Among the animals available for adoption at the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter are a 2-month-old male dachshond-chow mix puppy and a 1-year-old orange tabby male cat. It's hard to figure us Yanks out, my British friends say. We still go simply gaga over royal weddings like the upcoming nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Yet we historically rejected royalty -- and increasingly we're even rejecting marriage.

Dating success not equal in open-marriage
Dear Annie: My husband and I have been happily married for 15 years and recently decided to try an open-marriage lifestyle. We are doing this with full honesty and respect for each other. The main problem is that the dating success is not equal. I found it easier to get a date. Whereas, my husband is having a tremendous degree of difficulty. He has online dating profiles, but no luck.
