‘Real-world foundation’ leads Truesdale to succeed

Zackary Truesdale, the son of Kristina and Philippe Truesdale, was formerly a student of the Kershaw County School District. He recently graduated from the South Carolina Governor's School for Arts and Humanities (GSAH) in Greenville. Truesdale began percussion lessons at the age of 16 with Nicholas Guiliano at the University of South Carolina School of Music.

Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Engram Mickle and Samuel Engram, Sr. A Celebration of Life and Homegoing Services will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Three p.m., at Browns' Funeral Home Chapel of Remembrance. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charity of one's choice. Brown's Funeral Home, Camden is serving the Engram family.

Roland Goodale’s recollections of Camden, 1910-1960s

In the 1960s Roland Goodale did a taped interview in which he described living in Camden beginning about 1910. A copy of the transcript of his Interview was in the Carrison Collection recently given to the South Caroliniiana Library by Mary Alden Carrison. This collection is presently being catalogued by Dr. Allen Stokes and will soon be available to researchers.
